Interview Lauren Collins stars as Paige on Degrassi. Yeah, Paige is the one who backstabs and bad mouths everybody else on the show, but don't hold that against Lauren. She's not really a hater--she just plays one on TV. Here's what she had to say to questions from actual N users just like you (maybe, in fact, you).

Ladybug88: How old are you?

Lauren: I just turned 16!!!

hypergurl7: How did you get into acting?

Lauren: I was doing community theatre, and the head of my group asked me if I'd be interested in more professional stuff. She was an agent, and I signed on with her.

Gangstagrl: What type of music do you like, and what are your hobbies?

Lauren: I like to think I have a really wide range in my taste in music. My favourite stuff is what I call 'folky rock' I guess. Dave Matthews Band is my favourite and recently I've been into John Mayer. I like the Tragically Hip, Counting Crows, Dispatch, Phish, Bob Dylan... but on the other hand sometimes all I wanna hear is Britney and N*Sync!

With work its hard to have a lot of hobbies, but one thing I absolutely love is musical theatre. I started doing community theatre when I was about 10, and now I'm even doing a bit of directing for young kids. It is soooo much fun! Also, my friends are really important to me, so I'm out shopping with them a lot. Shopping is probably my favourite thing to do. I also like to find time to sit down and read a good book.

Alvin: What sports do you play?

Lauren: I'm not a huge sports fan, except for hockey. I just got into it this year... I don't play of course, just watch it on TV.

lover2008: Do you have a boyfriend?

Lauren: Nope, no boyfriend for me at the moment.

CountriQT: How do you feel about your character? Do you have anything in common with her?

Lauren: Paige is probably one of the best roles I've ever done, but she can be quite a mean girl at times. Sometimes I feel so bad about the things I have to say to the other actors. Then again, she does get some of the funniest lines! There are definitely times when I wish Paige would be just a bit gentler or nicer, but sometimes I love the way she is. I really think there is a lot more to her than meets the eye.

Paige and I are quite different. She always says what's on her mind, and I'm not like that at all. I tend to keep my opinions to myself. But Paige and I both care about our looks and the way we present ourselves.

hypergurl7: Do you get along with everyone else in the cast?

Lauren: The best thing about Degrassi is that almost all the actors are kids. We all get along so well, and I've made some friendships here that I know will last me a lifetime.

kaceypaige: Do you get angry on set when you're acting and you make a mistake, or when someone else makes a mistake?

Lauren: Usually when I mess up (or someone else does) we just laugh it off. It can get a little frustrating if you can't get a line out or if you keep forgetting it, but the atmosphere on set is pretty relaxed. So no, I don't get angry.

lildevil08: What do you like most about being on the show?

Lauren: I like the fact that Degrassi is a show that tells it the way it is. We deal with real issues that kids and teens my age are going through. The stories aren't sugar-coated for television. I also love Degrassi because it allowed me to meet so many interesting people.

sofia9922: Has your life changed by making this series?

Lauren: In small ways so far. I get stopped at the mall for autographs, and people ask me questions at school. But I'm still the same person with the same life I had before.
