When you ask somebody who they would want to be on Degrassi, it's surprising how often people say "Emma!" Well, Miriam would agree. She likes trying on Emma's life every day, with its first periods, Internet weirdos, and angry boyfriends. Miriam shared that and more when some the-N.com users asked her about her real life.

ladybug88: How old are you?

Miriam: I turned 15 this summer.

hypergurl7: How did you get into acting?

Miriam: Ive been dancing all my life, and when my dance school offered acting classes, I signed up for them. Our acting teacher told us about an open call audition. I went, and I got the part. That producer gave me the name of my current agent, who sent me to the Degrassi auditions. From there well, you know the rest!!!

Kittypaw: What type of music do you like, and what are your hobbies?

Miriam: My hobbies are swimming and every type of dance (ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, etc.). My favorite music is always changing, but right now I really like Shakira.

Alvin: What sports do you play?

Miriam: I play tennis.

Ashanti626: Do you have a boyfriend?

Miriam: No, I dont have a boyfriend...now!

lildevil08: What do you like most about being on the show?

Miriam: I most like meeting all the people on the show and getting to live through Emmas experiences.

hypergurl7: Do you get along with everyone else in the cast?

Miriam: I get along really well with everyone.

kaceypaige: Do you get angry on set when you're acting and you make a mistake, or when someone else makes a mistake?

Miriam: No, I dont get angry when someone makes a mistake, because we all do.

fla: This August, I'm going into Junior High. Is the first day really like the one in your episode?

Miriam: My first day of Jr. High wasnt as bad and scary as Emmas. No one picked on me. I just made new friends from other schools!

CountriQT: How do you feel about your character? Do you wish she could be different, and do you have anything in common with her?

Miriam: I like that my character is strong-willed, smart and trusts herself. I think Emma might be better if she didnt jump to conclusions so quickly, but she and I both have strong opinions and like to stand up for what we think is right.

TulipSweet: Were you embarrassed when you had to do the episode "Coming of Age"? There were boys seeing you having your period. I would have been sooooo embarrassed!"

Miriam: When I first read the "Coming of Age" script (where Emma gets her period) I was embarrassed, but then I thought about it and was proud of how Emma dealt with it. So instead of feeling embarrassed, I was pleased that it gives a strong message of not being ashamed of yourself.

sofia9922: Has your life changed by making this series?

Miriam: My life is basically the same as it was before Degrassi, only now I get recognized everywhere I go.

About Miriam McDonald Miriam may be familiar to many as the Voice of YTV. Her other voice-over credits include 13 episodes for each of the animated series Ripping Friends, Cyberchase and Pecoca as well as voicing the lead in the animated series Englebert. Miriam also appeared as a series regular on the television series System Crash. Miriam is also an accomplished dancer. She was recently awarded a scholarship with Toronto's Canadian Children's Dance Theatre (CCDT) but opted to pursue acting for the time being.

About Stacy Farber Stacey debuts in the second season of Degrassi: The Next Generation as Ellie. She has also appeared in the television show Witchblade. Stacey's credits in the film industry include NARC, Games at Four and Bagatelle. On stage, Stacey played the lead role in The Big Deal in addition to starring in Sammy Jones & The Hockey Mom. Stacey's hobbies include acrogymnastics, snowboarding and swimming. MY REAL LIFE: STACY Stacey plays Ellie, the new girl on Degrassi. She's easy to pick out: the one with the crazy rocked-out hair, black tights, and multiple piercings. Yeah, Ellie's punk, but Stacey on the other hand... Some of my favourite songs are by Britney Spears, John Mayer and Dave Matthews. I love going to different concerts and listening to my CD collection. Alvin: What sports do you play? Stacey: In the summer I enjoy swimming, playing basketball, and playing baseball. In the wintertime I like snowboarding and ice-skating. Ashanti626: Do you have a boyfriend? Stacey: Currently, I am single. hypergurl7: How did you get into acting? Stacey: I attended a school for the arts from grade 4 through 8. That allowed me to participate in all aspects of the arts on a daily basis, including drama. I really enjoyed the drama program, and so I decided that I wanted to try acting professionally. Shortly after, I met with an acting agentâ€¦and the rest is history! CountriQT: How do you feel about your character? Stacey: I enjoy playing Ellie, because we are different in so many ways. Ellie handles situations differently then I would if put in her position, because she is more outgoing and courageous than I am. I like her attitude, and I admire her ability to say what is on her mind. CountriQT: Do you have anything in common with her? Stacey: Ellie and I are very similar in some ways. We are both loyal friends, and we would do anything in our power to help them out. On several occasions Ellie has been found sticking up for her friends and being by their sides when they need her the most. Like my character, there is nothing more important to me than my friends. CountriQT: Do you wish she could be different? Stacey: My character is new to the show this season, and so I have not had the opportunity to experience all of her emotions. I donâ€™t think I have had enough time to fully understand Ellie, so I have not yet found anything about her that I would change. kaceypaige: Do you get angry on set when you're acting and you make a mistake, or when someone else makes a mistake? Stacey: When I make a mistake on set I feel embarrassed at first, but then I just laugh it off. I remind myself that learning from my mistakes is half of the experience, and everyone else had probably messed up during a scene as well. The fact that I forgot a line is not what is important. It is important that I remember the line the next time and learn from the experience to prevent myself from making the same mistake twice. lildevil08: Do you relate to the things that happen on the show? What specifically? Stacey: I can relate to issues like peer pressure and having boy problems. Other heavier issues are harder for me to relate to because I have no experience with them. When I have to act out issues that I have not experienced, I try to consider how my character would feel and how the experience would affect them. I have to pretend that I am going through whatever my character is, and I then have to deal with the issue as my character would. Sometimes it can be very challenging, but those challenges are what make my job exciting. sofia9922: Has your life changed by making this series? Stacey: Being a part of this series has definitely changed my life for the better. Even though my schedule has gotten very busy since I stated working, I have managed to set aside time for hanging out with my friends, doing my schoolwork, etc. I dont feel that being on the series has prevented me from doing anything that I would have wanted to do if I had not gotten the part, and so I am happy with the changes that have occurred. lildevil08: What do you like most about being on the show? Stacey: My favourite part about being on the show is that I get to do what I love everyday: acting. Of course, I dont mind missing school and being on TV!
